I met Shane Forth for the first time at the IPMA meeting in Croatia in 2013, and it was a pleasure discussing projects with him. Shane is unique since he has a lifetime of practical experience in managing projects and is an avid reader of project studies and scientific literature. Shane's Dissertation Supervisor at University of Manchester 2012 - 2013

I met Shane when he was completing his MSc in Project Management at University of Manchester and supervised his dissertation project. Shane’s knowledge of the field of project controls and his research in this subject area led to him being awarded ‘Best Dissertation’ prize in a national competition run by Association for Project Management. Shane is always very keen to share his knowledge with others and returned to the University to give guest lectures on schedule integrity. Students really appreciated his clear explanations and insight and his wide perspective from his extensive professional experience.

Shane Forth makes a wonderful contribution to our MSc in Engineering Project Management programme at Manchester Metropolitan University.  Working closely with the academic teaching team, Shane brings to life the challenges of scheduling real life engineering and construction projects in a way that complements the project management theory in the course.  His engaging style of lecturing and use of participatory exercise help deepen our students’ understanding of project planning and scheduling and increases their preparedness for their future careers as project management professionals

I met Shane in 2016 when he was Chair of the Project Controls Technician Apprenticeship Trailblazer group. I am delighted to recommend him as a project control thought leader and exceptional trainer. When Shane established GO FORTH in 2019, I invited him to perform consultancy services for Projcon. He provided Quality Assurance for our Skills Assessment Reports (SARs) and recommended and created new SARs for us. All work was completed to challenging deadlines. In delivery of Project Controls training for Projcon, Shane refreshed and improved the course materials and case studies. This led-to excellent learner feedback on his innovative virtual training. Being able to respond to the rapid need for change enforced upon by the global pandemic meant that the traditional methods of teaching and learning had to be adapted quickly. Shane’s flexibility and embracing of online learning ensured our apprentices progress continued throughout social distancing with positive feedback from the apprentices and we can learn from this successful teaching experience. Shane continued this approach for a second cohort of apprentices, who benefitted from his years of knowledge and experience, not only in relation to the occupation, but also the wider industry.
