Duration
5 x 1/2 days, 9.00am -2.00pm (25 hours)
Description
Provides a comprehensive and detailed insight into project controls. Covers estimating, planning, cost engineering, risk management, monitoring and control and much more. There is a particularly in-depth emphasis on planning, scheduling and earned value from first principles.
Key Outcomes
Delegates use a range of best practice tools and techniques to acquire the knowledge, skills and behaviours for project success. To solidify the learning, delegates develop worked examples from a simulated real world project case study for a Recycling Plant, with associated data and exercises. On completion, delegates are awarded an ECITB Certificate of Training.
Who Attends?
Project control generalists, specialists or those being prepared for a project controls role. Also, benefits graduates and staff in roles such as PMO, project management, project engineers design engineers, site engineers, commercial, proposals, quality management, document controls and more.
Duration
2 x 1/2 days, 9.00am -1.30pm (9 hours)
Description
This course provides practical risk management training. Delegates apply best practice from the Association for Project Management (APM) Project Risk Analysis and Management (PRAM) processes, techniques and methods, that, that can be used on any project, whatever the industry, timescale and budget, to increase the likelihood of successful project completion. The course is highly participative, using presentations to support group discussions, together with a series of group exercises, based around a real-world engineering construction project scenario in which delegates are assigned to individual project team roles and build a risk register..
Key Outcomes
By completing the course, delegates gain a shared understanding of risk management terminology, its implementation and the associated human factors and are awarded an ECITB Certificate of Training.
Who Attends?
Anyone who works in or with a project team and needs to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours for managing risk.

Duration
5 x 1/2 days, 9.00am -1.30pm (22.5 hours)
Description
Provides a thorough practical, in-depth and broad perspective of estimating in the engineering and construction industry. The course emphasises how the role is linked to all activities company wide. The different perspectives of primary stakeholders such as contractors, clients, and consulting services are considered. Recommended Practice from the AACEI (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering) are combined with practical case studies, including a Waste to Energy Plant, group activities, exercises, discussion. and quizzes.
Key Outcomes
Delegates acquire and consolidate a breadth of knowledge and skills related to both the technical and inter-personal abilities needed to prepare an estimate at all project phases including CAPEX and OPEX, carry out and economic evaluation and are awarded an ECITB Certificate of Training.
Who Attends?
Those new to estimating or those with experience that require a broader perspective. Also, benefits graduates and staff in roles such as PMO, project management, project engineers design engineers, site engineers, commercial, proposals and quality management.

Duration
3 x 1/2 days, 9.00am -1.30.pm (13.5 hours) + pre and post-course assignments
Description
Helps delegates develop their understanding of how to set up, implement and close out document management on a project. It consists of of four modules: Setting the Scene, Definition, Implementation and Handover and Closeout that follow a typical project life cycle. The underlying principles are considered, based on a real-world engineering construction project scenario, in which the document management processes and requirements of client, main contractor, sub-contractors and major vendors must be integrated.
Key Outcomes
Delegates complete a pre-course assignment (on how Document Management is handled within your organisation and two post-course assignments, to produce a Document Management Procedure for a ‘real world’ engineering construction project scenario, leading to an ECITB Certificate of Achievement.
Who Attends?
Current and potential document managers, document controllers, information managers, procurement staff, administration staff, office managers and technical clerks.
